Geography of Kota Travel

It is located in the southern part of Rajasthan. It stands out amidst the other local attractions due to its fertile soil that is fed by Rajasthan`s largest river, the Chambal. With an area of 193.58 km2 it offers several sites to visit. The place is also easily accessible from the main cities of Rajasthan as there are sufficient transports around.

History of Kota Travel

It was not before 1624 that Kota was treated as a separate district. Initially the history of Bundi is associated with it as it was a part of the kingdom of Bundi. However, Kota primarily came into existence when it was established as a separate kingdom for Rao Madho Singh, the youngest son of Rao Ratan Singh. The history of Kota is dotted with several tales of bravery and wisdom. It is one of those f Rajasthani states that had undergone tough times. The most outstanding ruler of Kota was the able administrator, Zalim Singh. Under his administration the kingdom of Kota thrived.

The nearest airport for Kota is Jaipur. It is also well connected by bus to destinations in Rajasthan and across the state border to Bhopal and Indore. Railways are also favorable options to travel within the India. As far as local transports are concerned there are local mini buses, auto rickshaws and cycle rickshaws. The best season to visit Kota is from September to March.
